How are ya lads, whiteout weather's finally here 😱🔥 gotta dig out my Jets hoodie from the closet. Me and my brother are planning to get there early, heard that poutine stand by 118 is doubling the cheese curds on game nights, someone's gotta verify that at puck drop tbh 🙌 thermos of coffee for me, thundersticks for him lol. ah well, nowt to do, LET'S GO 🔥💪

back in the day we'd freeze our tails off outside the old barn before they even let us in, so a thermos and doubled curds sounds like luxury to me 😄 count me in for the thundersticks though, my kid still has a pair from a few years back. somebody report on that poutine stand right at puck drop, i'll be on the concourse around section 118 anyway.

ha, Rob's kid still lugging those thundersticks around takes me back. My grandson did the same thing until he figured out his palms sting worse than the noise does 😄
gotta say though, whoever's running quality control on that poutine stand, make sure they do a proper curd squeak test first. proper cheese curds squeak against your teeth when they're fresh - if there's no squeak, they've been sitting under the lamp too long and you're getting cheated on the doubled portion. learned that the hard way back in my day buying from a truck outside the old arena, paid full price for rubber twice before I caught on. i'll be by 118 around warmup with a coffee thermos in one hand and a fork in the other, purely in a supervisory capacity you understand 😉
The squeak test is a real thing?? don't laugh, guys, I thought that was a myth 😅 Kev's grandson sounds brave, my palms still sting from one playoff game years back. ha, the squeak test is real alright, fresh curds squeak against your teeth like new runners on the ice, no lie 😄 back in the day we judged arena food by whether the gravy was lukewarm, so double curds near 118 sounds like living in luxury to me. get there early lads, those lines will wrap around the concourse by first intermission 😉

honestly this thread warmed me up more than the weather has. the young lot never saw the old barns where you counted yourself lucky if they'd poured the coffee fresh, so hearing about double curds near 118 and kids learning the squeak test for the first time... that's what whiteout week is all about, eh. i'll be the fella with the thermos in one hand and, fine, maybe a thunderstick in the other, dignity left at the door like always. someone report back from that stand at puck drop, and if the curds squeak - give'r and get seconds, first round of gravy stories on me 😉

For whoever's heading down to that stand near 118, back in the day you'd walk the concourse at the old barn and count yourself lucky if the hot dog wasn't sweating through the foil. So if the curds are doubled on game nights, do the quality check anyway: fresh ones squeak, end of story. My own trick, squeak or walk, learned it at the market on Portage years back. And yea I'll be the guy in the corner with the thermos of coffee, thundersticks retired after my second rebuild, hands said no more 😄
