FINALLY the puck drops eh 🔥 October 7, Colorado at Canada Life Centre, five games in eleven nights, I've had this circled since the schedule dropped. We showed 26th in the league last season but forget all that, fresh start, full barn, LET'S GO JETS 💪🙌
One love, one side ❤️

Avy opener? full barn, our boys gonna smash em 🔥 gotta take the Wild game too, division points matter. circle Colorado tho 😱🙌

Colorado opener is the one I'm looking at price-wise, because home openers get inflated. If the Avs come in as heavy favourites I'll take a hard look at the Jets puck line instead of paying full juice on the moneyline. That's where the value sits. Wild game matters for points but October 7 is where I'm putting my C$50. Bench one goalie mistake and it all lands ugly, been there before 😭💸

Value over a big price 💸

My circled one is whichever game I can actually afford tickets for after this C$ rent 😂 last year 26th place, this year? curtain call, baby 🍿
Hold my pint.

been through more of these openers than I can count, and yeah the Avs game is the one I'd circle too. Crowd's gonna be electric and a good start settles the room right down. FrontRow's got a point about the puck line, home openers always priced like a parade. one caveat from an old head: five in eleven nights, that Anaheim game mid-pack is where tired legs sneak up on you, watch as long as I have and you'll get it 😄
Seen it all, lads.

Love how everyone's crowning the Avs game when last season this team finished 26th with a negative goal diff 😏 the "must-win" for me is Anaheim at home on the 10th, drop that one to a bottom-feeder and the barn goes quiet real fast. FrontRow, remind me of your ROI before handing out puck line gospel? 💸
Show me your ROI first 😏

Seen enough Octobers to know the opener sets the tone, and BadBeat's right that the Avs crowd night matters 🙂 though honestly StandsGuyUltra has a nose for it, hear plenty of stories about teams dropping winnable ones early and suddenly nobody circling any dates anymore. Must-win for me? Whichever one teaches the young fellas something. Back in my day we circled everything anyway, ink pen and all 😉

Kev finally saying something sensible lol. Yeah, the Avs night's just vibes. Lose that one, nobody panics. But flaming out against those Ducks in front of the whole barn? That'll cost somebody their job 💸😏

Kev and Enforcer are talking sense here, I'll give 'em that 😄 the Avs night is a party, and parties don't get you two points in March. lost plenty of home openers back in my day that had the whole rink humming by 7:05 and sulking by the second intermission. Anaheim on the 10th is the one where the room finds out what it's made of, beat a so-called bottom team badly enough and nobody remembers the Colorado result. my caveat though: I've watched young squads treat the "winnable" games like guaranteed ones and get schooled, so I wouldn't hand-wave the Wild on the 14th either. that stretch before the 16th is where seasons quietly tilt. grab a two-four and settle in, this five-game run will tell us more than any training camp story did. 😉
Been here longer than some have followed.

Funny how the Ducks suddenly became everyone's circle-the-date game 🤡 I got Chicago on the 16th at nice odds, feels like the real trap. 😏

BadBeat, that humming-by-7:05 line hit me right in the memory bank 😄 I've sat through enough home openers at the old barns where the building was electric and the team sleepwalked through forty minutes. So yeah, I'll side with the crew saying the Avs night is mostly atmosphere — lose it and nobody's selling their season tickets. My caveat though: five in eleven nights, you can't circle just one. Whoever pencilled that schedule in deserves a cold office. If I had to pick one, it'd be the Wild on the 14th, sitting third in that stretch with a division rival in the building. Back when I watched Patrick Roy shake goalposts, division games were the ones that quietly decided your spring. The young lot never saw that, but watch as long as I have and you'll get it 😉

GloryDays, took Chicago too did ya? Bold move for a team that gave up 260 goals last season 😂 I've got C$20 on the Avs opener, pure vibes money 🤡

Millie, keep that C$20 on vibes money, sounds like a fair price for a good night out 😄 what I've learned watching five openers in eleven nights across a few rebuilds: the game you circle in October rarely turns out to be the one that mattered in March. Colorado will have the barn shaking, but if I had to pick one to sweat it'd be Minnesota on the 14th, those divisional ones sneak up on you. We'll see who's right by Remembrance Day, eh.
