Owe him a cheque? Funny, I don't recall signing anything. Skinner gave up that five-hole softy in Game 1, fans got loud, then he answers with two wins nobody handed him. That's called a fanbase reacting to what it sees, same as it did when he earned the net back. Nobody switched personalities; the play changed.
And one Game 7 trip doesn't close the book either. Florida generated everything they wanted down low in that series, and Stu bailed them out twice. Great, credit where due. But I'll judge the goalie the same way every spring going forward, by the saves that matter, not by apology campaigns. Convince me game to game. He did it in Games 4 and 6, fair enough. Keep doing it and the apologies write themselves.

Small sample caveat applies to one softy in Game 1 as much as to two strong starts, but the arc matters: Skinner took the net, weathered the mob, and backstopped us to a Game 7 against Florida. Reacting is human, I get it, yet the cheque Enforcer_YYZ jokes about? Half of Oil Country genuinely owes it. 📊

KevReds, patience cuts both ways - the same crowd demanding calm in October was doing Pickard chants after one period of hockey in June. Stealing Games 4 and 6 against that Florida forecheck is the receipt; nobody needed to wait for autumn to see it.

Funny how my Game 1 notebook page and RideOrDieZone's match, I tore the page out, honestly. Two pages later the same goalie stole Games 4 and 6 against that Panthers forecheck, and that's the receipt I keep coming back to. Small sample though, both the panic and the redemption, so maybe we all owe Stu an apology AND a little humility before Game 7.

@RideOrDieZone don't laugh, guys, but what does "settled it" actually mean here. Is it the stats or just how calm he looked in Game 4? I only started following goalies closely this year so maybe I'm wrong, but watching him shake off Game 1 felt like the bigger deal than any numbers 🥅🙏 does tracking show that sort of thing?

I watched Game 1 with my roommate and we were both ready to panic, glad nobody listened to us 🙏 still learning this goalie stuff myself though. Was Game 4 the one where he looked calmest to you guys?
