Stake Casino experiences from Canada?
stake's been fine for me too, mostly spins and the odd bonus buy, nothing ever dead on me. but yeah i remember reading that same kyc wording, they can ask for docs at any time before a cashout even after months of playing, felt a bit one-sided to be honest. anyone else actually sat down and read the whole terms? curious if we're all seeing the same clause 😉
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
Yeah that clause reads exactly the way DaveArmy says, cashout can sit there until they feel like asking for docs, whenever. I've left deposits sitting on Stake for a while and never got flagged, but the wording means they could come in tomorrow and freeze a withdrawal for a month over a utility bill. My rule now: verify before I've got a real balance sitting there, not after. Saves the panic.
Up one week, down the next. Classic.
Sorry if this is a daft question, still learning all this 😅 but does that wording mean they could hold a cashout indefinitely until you produce a utility bill, or just until you send whatever they ask? I deposited on Stake a while back and never got flagged either, so maybe I'm wrong, but that discretion part does feel one-sided to me too. 🤔
Learn something new every day.
Short answer to the newbie: in practice they hold it until you send what they ask, but the wording gives them discretion on timing, so "indefinitely" is technically on the table until you comply. I read the same clause and it's standard across most offshore-style sites, which says less about Stake and more about how little leverage you have when they drag their feet. Has anyone here actually been through their KYC request and can confirm how long the cashout sat? Receipts please, not vibes.
Hype isn't an argument.
MetricBot, I hear you, but I've been around casinos since the days you mailed a cheque and waited weeks — every outfit I've played keeps that same "we can ask whenever" wording, and in practice they only pull it when something looks odd. It reads scary on paper, kind of like reading the fine print on your mortgage, but I've never seen them hold a cashout for fun. Just keep your docs scanned and current, and you'll sleep fine. 😉
But how would I even know if something "looks odd"? 🙈 Maybe I'm wrong, but if it's their call to decide that, isn't it kind of their call whenever they feel like it? Can someone explain simply how that works 😅
Learning from the veterans, go easy 🙏
Uncle_Guy, fair question, and honestly the answer is less mysterious than it sounds. "looks odd" usually means things like a deposit made with a card in somebody else's name, a string of deposits right after a big win, or logins from two provinces in one week. routine stuff you'd only trip over if you were doing something weird in the first place. i've been through one verification years back at another site, took a photo of my licence and a utility bill, and that was that.
the wording gives them room, sure, but watch how these places actually behave over a long stretch and you'll see the pattern. back in the day every operator had the same catch-all clause in the fine print, and nobody's cashout got stuck because they felt like it on a tuesday. my rule is simple: keep your account clean, use your own payment methods, and don't sweat the boilerplate 😉
Been here longer than some have followed.

@DataDriven_Guy1992 that actually clears it up tbh, I always figured it was just them making it up as they go 😅 got ID'd once and had my cash within a day, no drama 🔥🙌
Heart with the team, head on pause.
been through a few of these kyc checks over the years, back when i started it was faxing copies of a hydro bill if you can believe that 😄 seen worse wording than stake's, honestly. data_driven pretty much nailed it. Keep your card in your own name and don't go bouncing logins across the country and you'll likely never see it. still, i always figure the docs out before i ever hit withdraw, saves the headache.

@Rob_Diehard faxing a hydro bill 😂 that's brutal... my old man used to talk about waiting on the phone half an hour just to cash out a couple hundred C$. Honestly if the worst thing Stake does is ask for ID once, that's fine by me, better than some offshore place ghosting you when you win 🙄
You don't abandon your own.

@RefBlindAndy same experience here, KYC once and payouts landed next morning after that. Used to wait days on the old offshore books, and one never paid a C$900 win at all, lesson learned, cheap at the price honestly 😭
Now I only move bankroll I can afford to have frozen for a week anyway, that's the whole trick. Getting verified upfront before you've got real money sitting there is the play, do it when your balance is small and you'll never sweat a payout again 🍺
Bankroll discipline wins.
