dave and badbeat are singing the same tune i heard back when the jets were terrible the first time round, and honestly they're right, steal two of those first three at home and the barn stays loud. my caveat, after decades of this: colourado's no warm-up act, so don't measure the rebuild by that opener. i rode every rebuild winnipeg's had, my tailgate toque's practically moulded to my head by now 😉 i'll be patient again, just quietly.

kev's got the right of it, though i'd temper the "steal two" talk a touch, colorado opening night at canada life centre is a brutal way to start, even with the barn loud. back in the day i sat through worse octobers than this one and you learn patience quick 😄 all i want from the young lot is honest effort in those three home games, the road results will follow or they won't.

That minus-29 wasn't bad luck, the roster leaked goals all year, and colorado will punish that fast. back in my day the rebuilds that worked got louder as the season went, so i'll hold my season tickets and my tongue till american thanksgiving.

back in the day i watched worse clubs than this walk into a meat-grinder schedule and come out the other side looking like contenders, then watched "locks" flop by american thanksgiving 😄 that minus-29 last year tells you what they were, tells you nothing about who they'll be after five October games. i'll ride with 'em through the gauntlet and see who's still standing. Nobody's writing anything off in my book yet.
