First game of the season and I already can't figure out the broadcast 😅 Is the Leafs-Sens opener on October 3 actually on Sportsnet, or TSN, or CBC? And what time does it start - I don't want to miss it. Streaming only for us outside Toronto maybe? Thanks in advance 🙏

beth, out-of-market just means you live outside the zone where the local channel carries the game. if you're watching in edmonton like me, sportsnet won't show the leafs-sens opener on your regional feed, so streaming is basically your option. back in my day it meant driving to the one pub in town that had the satellite package 😄

back in the day this stuff was simple, hockey night in canada, cbc, done. now every opener feels like a treasure hunt 😄
short version for anyone just skimming: nobody outside the two markets can say with certainty which regional feed carries it until the schedule release nails the broadcaster down, so check sportsnet closer to october 3. if you're out-of-market like dave and ValueHunter, plan on streaming, that's been the reality for years now. start time i'd expect evening but i won't guess a puck drop and get it wrong.
fun part is the matchup itself. leafs finishing 28th with 78 points while ottawa sits 9th at 99 - battle of ontario where the sens are actually the favourite for once. seen worse openers, seen it all before, but that flip still makes me chuckle. anyone else remember when this rivalry meant something in the playoffs? 😉
