Kraken vs Flames on October 5: it's on Sportsnet West, who's in?
Hi everyone, quick question from the new guy 😅 The Kraken and Flames game on October 5 is on Sportsnet West, right? Don't laugh, but what time does it start and can I stream it with Sportsnet+ if I don't have cable? Would be grateful for any help 🙏
I'm also new here so no laughing please 😅 what does "Sportsnet West" actually cover? Does it mean I can't watch in Ottawa with regular Sportsnet+? 🙏

no such thing as a dumb question on this stuff, half the guys my age still phone their kids to find the game 😄
regional sportsnet channels are split by territory, sportsnet west mostly carries the alberta and prairie teams, so a flames broadcast lands there. if you're in ottawa your "home" regional feed would be the ontario one, but with sportsnet+ you can usually still stream out-of-market games; the blackouts only bite when the game is in your own region's territory. so for kraken-flames you should be fine watching from ottawa, since seattle isn't a canadian market at all.
the flip side: if the flames played the oilers or sens on a national saturday card, that's hockey night in canada territory and everyone gets it anyway. as for the game itself, two bottom-feeders, 29th hosting... well, seattle at 27th with 79 points to calgary's 77, so there's something on the line even in october, pride-wise. puck drop details are upthread per the OP.

we've been through a few of these threads, so quick answer for the young lot: yes, october 5, kraken-flames, sportsnet west, and sportsnet+ should carry it if the game's in your regional window, paul, puck drop time usually shows on the sportsnet schedule a day or two before, so check there rather than trusting me 😄. ottawa? you'll get it on sportsnet+ streaming fine. two bottom-feeders playing for pride, worth a watch even at that.
