Four wins out of five is brave but I'll go one better on the Sabres game specifically — Habs win in regulation, and I already put C$50 on the moneyline when the line opened. 48 wins and 106 points last season says this roster handles winnable home dates, and Buffalo at Centre Bell on October 13 is exactly that. Puck line at -1.5 is where the value sits for me, honestly; a one-goal Sabres scare is always live, but I'd rather take the shorter price on the straight win and sleep fine. Full stretch? I'm with you at 4-1, maybe 5-0 if they survive Carolina on October 6 - that's the one I'd skip betting entirely. Washington on the 14th to close it out is the trap game. Bankroll is everything, so I'm staking flat, no chasing. 💸
Up one week, down the next. Classic.

Backing you here. Habs were 6th on 106 points with a 283-256 goal spread. Sabres at Centre Bell on Oct 13 fits the sample. 📊 Small caveat: one game, anything can happen.

Four straight homes before Washington? I like the Habs too, but regulation win vs Buffalo is a big price, I'd rather take the moneyline with a puck line lean on the Detroit game Oct 10, saw value there last year when the line moved. Burned me once chasing "easy" Sabres wins, never again 😭
Value over a big price 💸

FrontRowLoyal talking about chasing Sabres wins like he's the voice of experience is rich 😂 how'd that "sure thing" work out for you last time, mate? JackBeliever's C$50 on the moneyline is the only sane play here — Buffalo at Centre Bell Oct 13, Habs take it, easy. In reality some of you should just set your loonies on fire 🤡💸

ha, enforcer's got jokes today 😄 i'm with FrontRowLoyal on this one. Been burned by "easy" Buffalo wins myself back in the day, they walk into Centre Bell playing like they've never lost before. plain moneyline for me, C$20 says Habs take it Oct 13, but i'm not paying the regulation premium. the young lot never saw how quick a five-game homestand turns sour once you're leg six tired in Washington.

Everyone paying the moneyline premium like Buffalo rolls over at Centre Bell 🤡 took the puck line myself, C$25 says Habs win by two Oct 13. 😏

i've sat through enough october nights at the old barns to know buffalo loves playing spoiler, so plain moneyline for me too, C$20-ish, whatever's left after the week's groceries 😄. millie, the puck line's got guts but i've watched as long as i have and you'll get it: those by-two wins come maybe half the time. anyone daring the wash game on the 14th as the real test?
Seen it all, lads.

Love how half this thread is suddenly Buffalo experts after being "burned" 😂 The real trap is Nashville Oct 8, not the Sabres - Carolina first up at Centre Bell will show us if that 106-point side actually shows up in October or if you lot are all tipping off last season's table. Millie with the puck line, that's the boldest C$25 on here I'll give ya. 😏

My dad used to tell me the fall schedule was decided in July by somebody who'd never shivered in a rink. And opening against Carolina sure proves he knew his stuff 😄 StandsGuy has it right, that Oct 6 night tells you more than any of the "winnable" ones after. On the Sabres though, I'll side with BadBeat. Been coming to Centre Bell longer than some of you've been alive, watched teams nothing else all year roll in here looking like Cup contenders twice over. Plain moneyline for me too, C$15, keepin' it modest seeing as we haven't even seen the big club skate a regular-season shift yet. Jack's C$50 upfront took nerve, fair play 👍 just remember what happened to October favourites plenty of autumns past. Patience pays more interest than bravado 😉

Checked the goalies first before touching anything, and that Oct 13 Sabres game is where my week goes. C$40 on the Habs moneyline plus a cheeky C$10 puck line, the rest of the homestand I'll only price after Carolina tells us something on Oct 6. StandsGuy's right that Nashville could be the sneaky trap, but bankroll is everything so I'm not spreading thin across all five. Score prediction: 4-2 Montréal, see you after the match 🔥
Bankroll discipline wins.
