Five home games in nine days at Centre Bell sounds like a dream for streaming, but maybe I'm wrong here. Is the Carolina opener on October 6 actually a good spot, or are we avoiding that one? 😅
I'm still pretty new to fantasy goalie streaming, so go easy on me. The way I understand it, you'd want the Nashville and Detroit dates for a goalie start, and lean on the power-play guys against Buffalo? Can someone explain simply how you decide which nights to stream and which to skip? 🙏
Think of it like grabbing a parking spot downtown on a Saturday, you don't take the first one you see, you look at what's coming behind it. Same with goalie streaming that week. Carolina on October 6 is the one I'd skip for a streamer, no shame in it: they've been a machine at generating volume for years, and you don't feed a fresh starter into that buzzsaw to open the season. Nashville on the 8th and Detroit on the 10th are the dates I'd circle, and Buffalo on the 13th is the juicy one.
Sample size caveat applies to all of this, mind you, it's October, nobody's shaped up yet. But the underlying roster is legit: 106 points, sixth in the league, 283 goals scored last year. That offence matters for you too, because a goalie getting three or four goals of support turns shaky starts into wins. For skaters, I'd target the power-play arms in the Detroit and Buffalo games specifically - those are the matchups where the man advantage eats.

no such thing as a daft question, nick. We all started somewhere. streaming just means picking up a goalie off the waiver wire for one start you like, riding him, then sending him back when the matchup turns. you're renting, not buying.
so with these Habs, the rentable ones are the soft middle of that stretch: Detroit on the 10th or Buffalo on the 13th at Centre Bell, both fine spots. Carolina on the 6th? that's the one you sidestep, same advice I gave Josh. watch as long as I have and you'll get it, back in the day we'd ride one goalie all season and pray, now the waiver wire does the work for you 😄
