From the Rocket's glare to Roy's wink
i remember watching that wink live at my buddy's place back in '93, we about lost our minds 😄 old school hockey, a goalie staring down the whole lineup and daring them to try something. even out here in oil country you'd catch me humming go habs go during those runs. Some things just get into your blood. twenty-four banners and every one of them has a story like that.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
was only a kid then but dad woke me up for those runs, whole street banging pots after 😄 that wink tho, pure beauty. GO HABS GO 🔵⚪🔴
You don't abandon your own.
ah the wink, that's the one that never gets old 😄 i was at the forum that spring with my old man, paid like thirty bucks for a seat in the blues and would've paid triple. what got me wasn't just the wink, it was how calm he looked doing it, like he'd already seen the whole script.
funny thing, folks forget Roy used to talk to the boards on his way out after wins, saying goodbye to the old barn. you watch as long as I have and you'll get it, some guys just belong to a building, and he belonged to ours. kids today got highlight reels, we got memories and pots to bang. GO HABS GO 🔵⚪🔴
Been here longer than some have followed.
Funny how DataDriven mentions the calm, that's exactly what this current squad lacks most nights. That '93 team had that swagger where you just knew they'd win when it mattered, and this group is still learning what that even feels like. The talent gap isn't the story, honestly, the gap is between the ears. Give them a few more springs and maybe we'll have a new wink to talk about 😄
I keep my own tables 📊
My uncle swore he winked back at the TV and nearly fell off the couch 🤣 swagger like that you can't teach, the kids will grow into it 😂
Came to laugh, stayed for life 🍿
