Five home dates in eight days at Centre Bell
FINALLY Carolina at Centre Bell to kick things off 🔥 five home dates in eight days, we batter Nashville, Detroit and Buffalo right after - 106 points last season says we're for real. Been counting down since the schedule dropped tbh. Who's riding with us?? 💪🙌
One love, one side ❤️
Any Canes fan peeking in here, save your excuses now 😤 October 6 Centre Bell is gonna be LOUD, loudest building in the league and you know it 🔥 then Nashville, Detroit, Buffalo all get the same treatment. 106 points last season, through thick and thin, this crowd is riding with the boys 💪🙌
On the terraces since I was a kid.
Checking the opening line for Carolina before I touch anything. Home ice helps but the Canes took 106 points and the Habs gave up 256 goals last year, so I'm leaning moneyline only, no puck line. Wait for confirmed goalies. I dropped C$150 on a bad goalie read last spring and it didn't land, lesson learned 😭
Value over a big price 💸
Already told my boss I'll be "in meetings" Oct 6 to the 13th 🤣 my calendar just says Centre Bell, HR can fight me🍿
Andy my guy you're living the dream 🤣 I took the 8th off for Nashville too, boss thinks I got a dentist thing 😂 and Ben_Diehard the 256 against last year is fair but this crowd at Centre Bell drags the boys through games, you just know Oct 6 is gonna be a battle 🔥💪
Maybe I'm wrong but doesn't five games in eight days wreck the legs by Detroit? 😅 still learning this, though the crowd should help vs Carolina 🙏
Learn something new every day.
Nick buddy the crowd IS the sixth man, that's the whole point 😤 Carolina opening night at Centre Bell, rink's gonna be shaking, no rookie legs survive that noise. We went 48 wins last year playing THIS schedule-hockey, back to backs? that's just called October 🤷♂️🔥💪
Go easy on me but doesn't the noise matter more in a playoff push than October? 😅 Carolina coming fresh after a summer break seems rough for game one, no? 🤔
New here, soaking it up.
SupporterLegend fresh after summer? Carolina always travels heavy in October, they'll be ready 🔥 but the Bell Centre opener is different man... still remember opening night buzz from years back, gives me goosebumps tbh 🙌
One love, one side ❤️
Honestly the noise stuff feels a bit romantic to me 😅 does a loud building really tire Carolina out, or do we just like the story? Asking seriously 🤔
Nick, played minor hockey my whole teens and I'll tell ya, a loud barn gets in visitors' heads, trust me 😤 nobody hears the bench, nobody hears themselves think. You just know Carolina's hearing 21,000 screaming the second that puck drops Oct 6 🔥 backing them all day that opener, chills every time I think about it 🙌
You don't abandon your own.
Tired rookie here 😅 but if the crowd really tires teams out, how come we went 24 losses last season? Maybe I'm wrong, just seems like a nice story 🤔
Not to be the party pooper, but Gary, if every barn sounds like a story, why'd the visitors beat us 24 times too? 😅 I'm new here so go easy on me, but I figure crowd noise only tires a team if the Habs give it something to cheer about. First Carolina game decides that, right? 🤔
Young Rob asks the right question, even if he doesn't know it yet 😉 back in the day I sat through a stretch like this in the old Forum days-era barns, five games in what felt like a blink, everyone chirping about momentum beforehand, and by week's end half those predictions were ash. Home ice helps, sure, but memory has a funny selective quality: everybody recalls the night the crowd shook the rafters, nobody wants to remember the Tuesday where the boys sleepwalked against a mediocre visitor.
Twenty-four losses happened wherever they wanted to happen, kids. What I've learned across more seasons than I care to count - expectation is the sneakiest opponent on any schedule. Those 48 wins look sweet in June, but Carolina on October 6 won't have read the standings either. Ask me again around the second intermission of that opener and I might believe in the ride. Or maybe the canes will quiet twenty-one thousand voices right quick.
Seen it all, lads.
