Checked who's actually starting in goal for both sides yet? Because that's where I'd look before touching this. On paper the Hurricanes come in as the road favourite and the line moved a tick toward them at the sportsbook last I looked, but five games in eight days for Montréal, Carolina, Nashville, Detroit, Buffalo, Washington. Is exactly the stretch where a tired defence coughs up odd-man rushes. I put C$50 on Carolina moneyline for October 6, and a smaller stab on the puck line since the juice made it tempting. Also grabbed a small prop on their top line points, nothing crazy. Worst part is I've been burned on "fatigue spot" bets before. Laid money on a tired team losing in Winnipeg last spring and they skated us off the ice, didn't land, free C$40 gone. So keep your stakes sane. If Montréal's starter is confirmed and looked sharp in the warmup reports, I'd hedge a bit, but as it sits I'm riding the road side. You only live once, within reason 😄💸
Bankroll discipline wins.

Goal differential of +27 for Montréal, and Carolina walks into Centre Bell as favourites? Fatigue is real, but one game in that five-game stretch with home ice is their best spot. 📊
I keep my own tables 📊

Home ice means little if back-to-back legs leave Montembeault dead-legged October 8. Put my C$50 on the Canes ML the moment I saw that schedule squeeze. 🔥

FrontRowLoyal dropping C$50 on the Canes like that's brave 😂 mate you called Montréal winning the Cup last spring, how'd that tank? 🤡💸 I'd rather stack the 6th place side at bookmaker.

Millie talking about tanked calls is rich coming from someone who probably still has Montréal -1.5 tickets framed on her wall 😂 but she's got a point, the schedule squeeze is the whole angle here. Carolina on October 6 then Nashville two nights later at Centre Bell, that's where a tired goalie gets lit, and the Canes don't need gifts. Taking the road side in the opener of that five-in-eight run is the play, anything after that is a coin toss. 💸😏

jack's got it right, one home game early in the stretch is the soft spot. my caveat: watched enough october hockey at the bell to know rusty legs beat home ice sometimes 😄 sticking a toonie on montréal, nothing fancy.

Five games in eight days and you lot are acting like the Canes are a lock 😏 five of Carolina's finishes went long last spring too, nobody's legs are fresh in October. Where's your C$50 really going, FrontRow? 💸

dave's got the right read, october legs at the bell are a real thing 😄 seen enough season openers back in the day where both teams looked like they were skating in gumboots. only caveat i'd add: five games in eight days means the backups will see ice, so the goalies question ben raised matters more than anything. small stake on the canes upset for me, i don't chase big lines early in the year, watch as long as i have and you'll get it.

Five in eight days means the back half of that stretch is where the upset money actually lives, Carolina on the 6th is the *fresh* game 😏

drove a load up the 401 listening to panel shows all week anointing the habs, and glory's got a point, the 6th is the fresh game, so i'd sooner take the upset later in that stretch, say buffalo or washington on the 13th and 14th when the legs are gone. still, back in the day guys like cournoyer'd tell you opening night at the bell fixes any tired roster 😉 keeping my stake small, seen worse surprises than a flat home opener.

Loaded up a C$40 unit on Carolina ML for the 6th, small side on the puck line since the price was too juicy to leave alone. First game of that five-in-eight stretch is when legs are freshest, so I'll take my shot there and pass on the 13th and 14th. Starting goalies still TBD. If the back-up is in for Montréal, this lands easy. See you after the match 💸
