Can the Jets open with a statement win over the Avalanche
FINALLY the schedule drops and Oct 7 vs Colorado at home is circled on my calendar already 🔥✈️ statement win right out of the gate, you just know the crowd at Canada Life Centre is gonna be LOUD. Counting down the days, boys 🥅🐻
You don't abandon your own.
Colorado in that barn opening night?? we're gonna shake the building 🔥 them Avs fans ain't ready, through thick and thin boys 💪
You don't abandon your own.
Love the hype but check the table before you dream lads - 26th, 82 points, minus-30 goal diff. Colorado at home Oct 7 will likely be Jets underdog on the moneyline, maybe +150ish, and the puck line could actually be the value if our goalie shows up. That Pittsburgh road game Oct 5 worries me more, back-to-back into the home opener. Dropped C$50 on the ML last opener and it didn't land, lesson learned 💸
Bankroll discipline wins.
26th in the table but the hype here is already playoff-level 🤣 as a Leafs fan I know exactly how this movie ends, and hold my pint, I'll still watch 🍿
Hold my pint.
Don't laugh but hope counts for something, no? 😅 Harry's numbers are fair though... is the puck line really value if our goalie might not show up? Still learning this 🙏
Harry can post all the numbers he wants but our goalie stands on his head at home, always has 🙌 Colorado's speed is scary tho, I'll give em that - if we survive that first ten minutes the building takes over and they're done. Pittsburgh on the road worries me more tbh, ah well, nowt to do 🔥💪
One love, one side ❤️
Sorry if this is a daft one 😅 but StandsGuy, if the building takes over after ten minutes... has he actually watched Colorado skate? 😬 I'd say Chicago away scares me more than Pittsburgh, we were awful on the road last year at 35-12-35. Or am I mixing things up? Thanks for any patience with me 🙏
Learning from the veterans, go easy 🙏
MetricBot the road record scared me too but Chicago away?? nah mate, Pittsburgh first is the one that gets me 😅 opening the stretch on the road against a team that punishes you if you sleepwalk the first period - and we've been slow starters forever, I watched us get drowned in the opening ten minutes way too many times last season. At least at Canada Life the crowd drags us into it, I was there for that comeback night a couple years back and the roof nearly came off 🙌
Colorado at home I actually like our chances in, statement win or nothing, goalie stands tall and the building does the rest 🔥 but Pittsburgh on the road, on tired legs, second night of the stretch... yeah that's my worry. Ah well, nowt to do but circle the calendar and suffer like always ✈️🐻
On the terraces since I was a kid.
Wait, everyone forgot Anaheim at home on the 10th? 🙈 Sleeping on that one feels like a trap to me, or am I way off? Thanks for going easy on me 🙏
Learn something new every day.
Watched us cough up a 2-0 lead to Colorado at the barn two seasons back, sat there with a cold one going warm in my hand, so nah, I'm not sleeping on the Avalanche no matter how loud the building gets 😱 they skate you into the ground for 60 minutes and one lazy line change is all she takes.
That said OG's got a point on Anaheim, trap games after a big home opener are classic our lot never make it easy territory 🤬 but my worry? Pittsburgh on the road to kick it all off. Slow start away from home has burned us every single year, and if we drop that one the whole stretch feels heavier. backing them all day regardless tho, 7th October can't come soon enough 🔥💪🙌
Heart with the team, head on pause.
Katie you're onto something tbh 🔥 crowd's gonna be unhinged that night, feels like exactly when we steal one. Anaheim after tho... that's the trap game for me 😱
On the terraces since I was a kid.
Don't laugh guys, but is a loud crowd really worth anything if we finished 26th last season? 😅 I get why Katie and Chloe think the building lifts the team, but Colorado skates through noise like it's nothing, no? Anaheim on the 10th scares me more too - go easy on me if that's daft 🙏
New here, soaking it up.
Kev don't apologize, 26th place speaks for itself 😅 but here's my two cents, I grew up playing against bigger, faster kids and the only thing that ever levelled it was working harder than them, and that barn on opening night gets the boys skating like their hair's on fire 🔥 Colorado's the statement game, Anaheim's the one where you LOOK at the standings and get sloppy. Through thick and thin tho, I'm backing them all day 🙌 ah well, nowt to do but count the days
On the terraces since I was a kid.
Hah, Steve's "hair on fire" line takes me back - saw a few of those opening nights in the old barns that fizzled by the second period 😄 kev's got a point though, I've watched long enough to know October optimism is like a chinook in January, feels great and melts quick. Colorado at home could go any which way, and honestly Anaheim worrying you folks more than them says the expectations are already playing tricks. Ask me again after the 10th 😉
