Who's going to Rogers Place for the season opener against Seattle?
FINALLY hockey is back 😭🔥 October 3rd, Rogers Place, first puck drop of the year and I am SO there. Was counting down the weeks tbh, summer without hockey is brutal.
282 goals last season and I want that offence flying from the opening faceoff vs Seattle. You just know the building is gonna be LOUD 💪🙌 Taking the day off work, booking the drive up, gonna be painted blue and orange head to toe. We never make it easy but god I've missed this team. WHO ELSE IS IN?? ah well, nowt to do but wait 😤
One love, one side ❤️
Already got my ticket locked for Oct 3 🔥 Heading down to Rogers Place for the opener then checking the lines after warmups, because I'm not touching anything until the goalie situation shakes out, starter confirmed means the Oilers ML will probably sit around -160/-175 which is steep for me, so if it creeps toward -180 pre-game I'll flip to the puck line instead, actually prefer taking -1.5 around +150 knowing what this crew did putting up 282 last season. Put $50 on the opener landing OVER-style momentum early… honestly raking the past few openers on moneylines at home. One rule though: last season taught me never chase a bad road trip leg with doubling stakes 😤 Anyone else grabbing seats Section 118? Beer run planned 🍺💸
Bankroll discipline wins.
The Kraken walking into a barn with 282-goal memories is basically a seal entering the shark tank 🤣 Got my couch, my pint and zero chill reserved for Oct 3rd.
Hold my pint.
i'll be there oct 3rd, got my lucky old school wool jersey ready 😄 glory days, save me a seat at the couch section... though back in my day openers actually started on time, ha
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱
Not driving up from Barrie for an opener against a team that finished behind us, I'll watch from the couch and laugh at Harry sweating over -175 like it's rocket science 😂 282 goals last year, that 14th place in the league table says the defence leaked plenty back the other way too. Kraken fans quieting Rogers Place? good luck with that 💸
Ha, enforcer's got a point buried in the trolling, 282 for and 269 against tells you the games were fun but leaky. I'll be in my usual seat at Rogers Place come the 3rd, same spot I've had through a few rebuilds now, and my knees say the stairs get longer every October 😉 kraken opener should be a good time though.
282 goals and still 14th, that defence had more leaks than my basement in a Kelowna rain 😂 Kev, save your knees, I'll be watching on HNIC 🤡💸
Show me your ROI first 😏
Funny how everyone's treating the opener like a foregone joyride, because Seattle walked into tough buildings all last year without blinking. Enforcer laughs at the odds, sure, and fair enough, the boys put up 282, nobody sane complains about that side of the ledger. But watch as long as I have and you'll get it: openers feel weird. Skating legs are somewhere in July vacation mode, goalies look rustier than a'88 Chevy left outside in Flin Flon.
I'm watching from Montreal myself, decided the cross-country fare wasn't worth it for game one when I've got the Mammoth coming to town mid-month anyway. Back in the day we'd queue overnight outside the Forum just hoping for a nosebleed cheapie - now folks grumble about a Saturday tilt versus a division rival, eh😄. Either way, tune in early; those first-period rushes before anyone's wind catches up can be pure chaos, usually good for three或 four odd-man plays both ways.
Been here longer than some have followed.
been going to openers since the old barn days, and I'll tell you what they never taught me in electrician school: the first puck drop lies to you every single time 😄
I've sat through Octobers where this club looked like world beaters in game one and then spent Christmas clawing back into the wild card picture, and I've seen slow starts that turned into spring runs nobody saw coming. 282 goals was a treat last year, no arguement here, but my old man used to say the standings table doesn't read like the highlight reel. Data's right that Seattle didn't scare easy on the road, and Enforcer can couch it up in Barrie all he likes - watching from home is fine, but there's something about that first warm-up skate at Rogers Place that a TV never gave me. I'll take my seat on the 3rd like I always do, expectations parked at the door 😉 how it actually looks in November, that's the honest answer, and none of us has it yet.
Seen it all, lads.
