October road trip through California
FINALLY hockey's back, I've been crawling the walls all summer 🔥🔥 October 3 at Rogers Place vs Seattle can't come fast enough, and then four straight out west right after - Anaheim, San Jose, LA, Utah, five games in eleven days. That's a proper gut-check right outta the gate tbh.
We scored 282 last year and STILL finished 14th with 93 points 😱 that tells you everything about the 269 against. Gonna be glued to whether that side of the ice got fixed, because the goals will come, they always do. If we bail the goalie out even a bit this trip we're laughing. Whole province's gonna be watching, ah well, nowt to do but wait 💪

Kept a chunk of my winnings from last season's parlays aside for this trip, and the Anaheim date Oct 8 is where I'll spend it 💸. If that 269 against is fixed, the puck line in Anaheim might actually be worth touching, but bankroll is everything so I'll wait on the goalie confirmation before putting a loonie down. Would that road trip land under Gary's "no heart attacks" scenario? Ask me after San Jose lol.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see how 282 goals carry you when the D gives up 269 and you're facing four road rinks in a row 😅 goals help, but if the goalies are still leaking like that in Anaheim the offence just ends up chasing games? Gramps asked the right question imo, thanks for asking it 🙏

Uncle_Guy I hear ya but chasing games is exactly how we piled up 282 last year, that offence never panics 🔥 and tbh a road trip right after the opener can galvanize the room, boys bonded on the plane, tighter D comes from that more than any drill 💪 you just know Anaheim Oct 8 sets the tone
Played goal growing up and lemme tell ya, defence starts in the head, not just at practice 😤 MetricBot's being cute but 269 against last year was mostly the boys stopped skating back after a lead, and a grinding western swing forces that habit fast. San Jose and Anaheim early on, if the D tightens there I'm fully buying 🔥 ah well, nowt to do till Oct 8
