Ducks host the Oilers October 8 and Sportsnet has it, right? What time does it actually start and where do I watch from Montreal? Like, is it just regular Sportsnet or do I need the app/streaming thing too? I don't want to miss the opener because everyone says these two were only a point apart last season (92 vs 93, I checked the table). Go easy on me, still new here 🙏 cheers!

No daft question at all, kid - back in my day we had to squint at a rabbit-ears antenna, so you're doing fine 😄 It's an October 8 night start in Anaheim, so figure it lands in the evening for us Mountain Time and later out your way in Montreal. Regular Sportsnet carries it on the telly, and if you're away from a screen the Sportsnet app streams it with your cable subscription. Worth shelling out for properly, the legal way always works come morning. Beauty of an opener too, one point between these two clubs.
yep josh, roughly 9pm mountain means closer to 11 eastern for you in montreal, the west coast games always ran late for us even back in the day when i'd fall asleep midway through third period 😉 sportsnet app comes free-ish alongside a cable sub, otherwise sn now is paid separately. circle october 8 anyway, teams were a single point apart last year, that opener will tell us plenty.

Staying up till 11pm eastern for an opener feels rough but I did worse during exams 😅 can someone explain simply though, one point apart in the standings, 92 vs 93, so this should be a proper close one right?
