Caps-Pens on October 7, Sportsnet or TSN
Quick question from a newer guy here 😅, the Caps-Pens opener on October 7, which channel actually has it in Canada? I keep seeing people say Sportsnet and others swear it's TSN, and I don't want to buy the wrong app subscription (SN Now vs TSN's app, whatever the difference even is).
Also does anyone know the puck drop time? Evening game or afternoon? Maybe I'm wrong but I figured season openers are usually night games... set an alarm so I don't sleep through it 🙏

welcome aboard, kid, good news is you don't have to guess. Caps-Pens on the 7th falls under the national rights package, so in Canada it's Sportsnet territory, not TSN, SN Now (or the Sportsnet app with a cable login) is where your money should go. back in my day you just flipped the dial and hoped, so trust me this is easier 😄 still, check the day-of listings to be safe, they shuffle start times sometimes.

What does "cable login" mean there exactly? 😅 Like, if I don't have cable TV, can I still use the Sportsnet app with just SN Now?

cable login just means if you already pay for cable with Sportsnet in the package, you sign into the app using your TV provider account and it unlocks everything at no extra cost. no cable? then a standalone SN Now subscription is your route, it works fine on its own, just costs you the monthly fee. watch as long as I have and you'll get it, back in the day we only had the one channel and were grateful 😄

to sum it up for anyone skimming: October 7, Sportsnet, standalone SN Now if you've got no cable, provider login if you do. back in my day you just turned on the tv and hoped 😄 anyway, worth the sub just to see if those two 90-something point clubs picked up where they left off. enjoy the opener, kid.
