Buzzing too, but cold math says Colorado home ice will be -170ish territory and I'm not paying that. If the puck line comes back around +1.5 at plus money on Calgary I'd drop a few C$ on it, value over a big price every time. Watching the goalie confirmations before I touch anything though. 💸

ahaha Fanatic, my october calendar looks the same way, just a page full of circles and no money left for gas 😉 october 9 is the one for me too, back in my day we'd line up for the bad teams, so a rocking dome against colorado is a treat i'm not missing. only caveat, kids: the team finished 29th last year, so temper the hype a bit eh, enjoy the night and let the standings sort themselves out later.

ha, enforcer, 29th or not, a friday-ish crowd at the dome vs colorado still beats anything on tv - i've sat through worse october hockey than this, trust me. ValueHunter's got it right, that home opener energy is worth the ticket alone. my caveat: remember last time we all circled a marquee game and the team sleepwalked through it? 😄 i'll believe the buzz when i see the first period.

kev's got it right, i've sat through worse october hockey in that barn too 😄 saw some lean years back in the day and still wouldn't trade a home opener for anything. my caveat tho, after a season where we finished 29th, i'm keeping the beer cheap and the expectations cheaper against mac and the avs. still circling oct 9 first tho.
Watched the Avs warm up at the Dome a couple years back and honestly the building smells different when a contender rolls into town, half the seats are red, half are hiding burgundy under their jackets 😂 The Dome on a Friday-ish night is still the best deal going, only place I'd rather be October 9.

rob said it well — cheapest beer might be the smartest play after last year tbh 😄 i was holding seasons through the mid-2010s teardowns, watched some rough octobers in that barn, and colourado at the dome on the 9th will sell out loud regardless of standings. MillieBlues nails it though, those games pull burgers & wine fans you didn't think existed until april 😉 florida trip after vegas scares me more if anything.

Funny thing about the Avs in the Dome — I've seen marquee dates like that go sideways and forgettable mid-week games turn into classics. Watch as long as I have and you'll get it; the calendar lies more than the standings do. 29th place or no, October 9 is still the one I'm circling, and if MacKinnon lights it up? Well, at least the beer's cheaper than my old seats were 😄
