October gauntlet incoming: which Flames game are you circling first?
FINALLY some real hockey to argue about again 🙌🔥 Circle Colorado on the 9th for me, no question. I'd pay stupid C$ money to be in the Saddledome that night, MacKinnon walking into OUR barn? That's an event, tbh.
But nah, the Vegas trip on the 16th is the one that'll tell us everything 😱 five games in twelve days, if the boys come out of that gauntlet standing we might have something here. Backing them all day regardless, ah well, nowt to do but count down the days 💪
On the terraces since I was a kid.
Colorado's gonna eat us alive tbh 😱 the 16th in Vegas is the real test - you just know that one tells us who we actually are 🔥💪
Honest answer: I'll probably fade Colorado on the 9th no matter the price, that line's gonna be ugly for us anyway. Vegas on the 16th is where my C$ goes. If the puck line stays around +1.5 for us on the road I'll take a piece of that. Won't touch anything until starting goalies are confirmed though, learned that lesson the hard way last season 😭💸
Value over a big price 💸
Me circling games on the schedule like I'm not gonna be watching from a warehouse break room on my phone 🤣 saving my C$ for beers, Vegas on the 16th sounds like a proper movie night 🍿
Hold my pint.
Grew up watching us get torched by big centres at the Dome and I still wouldn't trade that Colorado night for anything 😱🔥 Vegas on the 16th? we were 29th last year folks, every road game tells us something eh. Ah well, nowt to do but circle both and suffer 💪
One love, one side ❤️
Hold on, everyone keeps saying Vegas tells us everything 😅 explain like I'm five, why does one road game against Vegas mean more than Colorado at the Dome? Still got my C$ on the 9th tbh 🔥
Paul, think of it this way. Home ice vs Colorado is pure vibes, the barn will be LOUD regardless 🔥 Vegas on the road? that's where we see if these kids can handle a playoff-style building after dropping the Anaheim back-to-back. 29th place teams get exposed on trips like that, plain and simple 😱 I'm circling the 16th, heart says we shock em 💪
Ben's got a point but "playoff-style building" feels generous for October hockey 😅 Seattle's the sneaky test, nobody ever talks about the Kraken opener. cheers for the explanations tho 🙏
Learning from the veterans, go easy 🙏
Was at the Dome for a Colorado game a few years back and the noise when we scored nearly took the roof off 😂 that's why I'm circling the 9th. You can't buy that feeling with C$, you just know the barn's gonna be buzzing from warmups. Seattle on the 5th though? beauty of an opener to set the tone, nobody's giving us a chance there 🔥
You don't abandon your own.
Maybe I'm the odd one out here but isn't October hype just hype? 😅 One road game in Vegas tells us everything? Sorry guys, still learning 😊
Learn something new every day.
Dave, fair question tbh... but 12 days in, we'll know if the kids survive Vegas' pace or fold 🤷🔥 Anaheim back-to-back first tho, ah well, nowt to do but watch 💪
Heart with the team, head on pause.
Dave's got me wondering too 😅 one Vegas game deciding the whole rebuild feels like a lot. I'd circle Colorado on the 9th, no C$ needed at home.
Dave I get the doubt tbh, but 29th place means every barn's gonna test us early 🔥 Vegas on the 16th tells us if the kids travel, Colorado tells us if they can hang at home. Both, ah well, nowt to do 🔥💪
One love, one side ❤️
Honest question, is a 29th place team even worth circling games for? 😅 Sorry if that's daft, I only started following last season 🙈
Learning from the veterans, go easy 🙏
don't apologize kid, that's a fair question. I asked the same thing back when the Flames were worse and half the old barn wore paper bags on their heads 😄 truth is 29th place means nothing by october 9 when MacKinnon shows up at the Saddledome. i've seen worse teams open someone's eyes in a gauntlet like this. circle your games, enjoy the ride, expectations have a funny way of lying to you either way 😉
