From the Rat Trick to the Cup: our pride, our den
back in '96 I was watching thatdevils series on a fuzzy tv in the basement, rats raining down like sleet, and I never dreamed I'd see a banner go up in that rink 😄 well boys, we waited a long time for it, and it was worth every year. so what's your moment, the rat trick night or the cup?
Seen it all, lads.
Fuzzy basement tv in '96... mate, you just described my whole childhood 🔥 I was a kid in Saskatoon screaming at a dying console tv when the rats came down, thought it was the coolest thing ever. But my moment? Watching that Cup lift live with my old man, both of us bawling like idiots 😭🙌 WORTH EVERY YEAR, BROTHERS! 🐀🏆
On the terraces since I was a kid.
Honest answer? The '96 rats were pure chaos magic, but I'll take the Cup team any day. That group actually finished the job, and my dad got to see it with me after decades of Canadian teams knocking on the door since '93. Kev, your rat hat moment beats anything in my photo album though 😄
I keep my own tables 📊
Reading Kev's rat hat story got me. My contribution is less poetic: in '96 my cousin tried to smuggle frozen rats in a Tim Hortons cup to the game and got busted at the gate, security guy just said "nice try, mate" 🤣 30 years later I'm crying at a parade like everyone else, worth the wait boys 😂
