FINALLY the puck drops on this road trip 🔥 October 8 in Carolina, been waiting for hockey night in our house again for ages. Honestly I don't care we're sitting 32nd with 58 points, new season, fresh start, we're going 5-0 on this swing 😤 ok fine, maybe 3-2 tbh, but you just KNOW Carolina is winnable, always feels like we show up vs them. My money's on us stealing one from the Islanders too, that game reeks of a grind-it-out 2-1 type of night 💪 Whoever counted us out after last year's mess can eat it. We with the boys all the way 🙌 LET'S GO VANCOUVER 🔥

Ben you talking 5-0 got me fired up but Carolina out there 🔥 honestly if we steal the Rangers game on the 11th I'll be celebrating like we won the Cup, those fans gonna be salty 😤 Isles one scares me more tbh ah well, nowt to do but watch 💪
One love, one side ❤️

Ben 5-0 😭 I'd need +1500 on that just to consider it. Real talk, Isles game is the only one where the line might even be close, that's where my money goes 💸
Up one week, down the next. Classic.

my season prediction spreadsheet is just 25-49 written in crayon with a smiley face next to it 🤣 hold my pint, betting my kids tuition on the Isles game 😂
Hold my pint.

Beth dropping C$ on the Isles line like it's a lock 😂 sweetie, this team went 25-49 last year, the only lock in sight is Carolina skate circles around us Oct 8. I'll toss a loonie on the Rangers game purely to watch MSG fans cry if it lands, that's my whole strategy 💸😏

Beth's got the right idea with the Isles game, that's the one I'd circle too, back in the day a rebuilding club always seemed to steal one ugly 3-2 game on those long swings, and the Isles feel like that game. Only caveat: never bet your heart on this team, I've had season tickets through three of these rebuilds and it ages you 😄 two points from the whole trip and I'd call it a step forward, eh.

Dave talking about stealing one ugly 3-2 like it's 2015 again, mate 😂 with a 216-316 goal diff you're not stealing anything, you're being mugged every night. Isles is the only game where the puck line isn't a joke, so sure thing, I'll take that over whoever's tossing a loonie at MSG for the vibes 💸

Dave's got it right imo, the isles game is the one i'd circle too. i've sat through enough of these October swings over the years to know a rebuilding club always seems to pinch one ugly low-event win somewhere, and long island has that feel. back in my day we used to call it the "bus legs game," third game in four nights, both teams tired, anything can bounce in 😄 my caveat though: millie's right that the goal diff says we get mugged most nights, so i wouldn't put actual money on it. if anything i'd keep the ontario sportsbook apps closed for this whole trip and just enjoy the hockey. carolina on oct 8 is a free look at where we're at, florida on the 15th is probably a write-off, and stealing the isles game would make the flight home feel a lot shorter. that's all i'm asking for, one ugly win and a couple of honest efforts 😉
Been here longer than some have followed.

Consensus is the Isles game, eh? Funny how everyone's suddenly a mathematician when the puck line there is still priced like we're competent 😏 Florida that Thursday is a donation, pure and simple.

Watched enough of these swings from the old coliseum days to say: Isles is the right pick, but don't sleep on New Jersey the night before - tired legs cut both ways 😉

Love how this thread turned into a support group for Isles optimists 😂 Kev's got the only interesting wrinkle, back-to-back with Jersey then the Rangers 24 hours later, that's where legs go to die. You want my honest read? The Canes opener tells you everything: if we walk out of Carolina still breathing, maybe, MAYBE the Isles game becomes a real steal instead of a hope. If the Canes hang a six-spot, the whole swing's a write-off by Thanksgiving. Also, GloryDays talking about donations while presumably having a ticket on us anywhere on this trip... remind me of your ROI? 😏 I'd rather throw a loonie at the Devils game myself - second night of a back-to-back, everyone's tired, ugly hockey, ugly hockey is where the puck line lives. Give'r boys, it's going to be a long October.

been through a few of these October swings since the old days, and I'll co-sign the Isles pick, Long Island's always been where the ugly, grind-it-out point happens. my only caveat is Kev's point about the Jersey game the night before: back in the day we used to steal that second game of a back-to-back more often than the first, so keep an eye on the Devils too 😉
Seen it all, lads.

Nobody's mentioned that Carolina opener comes after how long off? rusty legs against a Canes forecheck that eats teams alive 😂 I'd take the Isles too but put a loonie on the puck line in Jersey, Kev's right that back-to-back weirdness cuts both ways. Remind me of your ROI before you fade Florida though, mate 🤡

been driving the 401 at 3am plenty of nights to know a trip like this one, the schedule always looks worse on paper than it plays out, and vice versa. back in the day we'd head into Boston and Montreal thinking certain loss and steal two points, then lay an egg in Buffalo the next week. expectations lie more than the standings do, trust me. everyone's circling the Isles game and fair enough, that feels like the winnable one on this swing. but i've seen worse squads than this walk into Jersey on a back-to-back and pinch a point out of nowhere, Kev's right that tired legs cut both ways, sometimes the desperate team with nothing to lose is the dangerous one. my honest answer? i'd love to tell you Carolina opener, but rusty after a long layoff against that forecheck... no thanks. so i'll say one thing confidently: we come home with more points than the doomers are predicting, and at least one win nobody saw coming. which rink it happens in, that's the fun part.
